Daily Challenges For Every Entrepreneur

Prepare For Disaster

There may be an instance where you hire a person for a very important position, but the person simply resigns – after all the money you spend on them during the training process. This situation can be very stressful, but you can reduce your stress by being prepared.

You should be mentally geared for such developments and take them in stride. Be prepared for emergency situations. When it comes to your employees, make sure that every one of them is cross-trained in at least 2 other departments.

So Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England has pronounced the ‘nice’ decade over. Apparently we can now look forward to global trading uncertainty, the spiralling prices of natural resources, increases in home repossessions, and the massive restriction of credit.

I’m looking to profile an entrepreneur/small business in Portland, OR that is engaged in for-profit, sustainable, and ethical business. This company/startup must be interested in social justice, preferably having to do with microloans/education in Africa, Asia, or South America. It’s for a scholarship app, so all help is much appreciated!

The Everyday Opportunities That We Miss That Cost Us Billions of Dollars

From time to time, we all encounter small business opportunities that don’t seem to have much promise. Many of us, after all, prefer the “big” opportunities, such as investing hot stocks, or in oil exploration, or in an expanding mall. There is much prestige and glamour to be found when it comes to the “big” business opportunities, which promise quick and easy riches. Contrast this with the non-glamorous, plodding world of small business opportunities, and you will begin to understand why most people prefer to steer clear of small business opportunities.

Yet, it might be good for us to remember something really basic – all businesses, no matter how large and prestigious they are now, had to start small. Microsoft, for instance, began its corporate life as a small start-up in Bill Gate’s garage. This multibillion dollar corporation, which produces software products that billions of people around the world use, was little more than a small business opportunity in the minds of two teenagers when it first began. Today, it is an enterprise that almost everyone is familiar with, and which continues to make billions in dollars in profits year in and year out.

Essay, please give me any ideas.?

I have to write an essay for a scholarship. The prompt is:

“If you were elected to serve as a United States Congressmen, how would you use that office to assist your constituents in the area of leadership, technology, community service engagements, and entrepreneurship? Please give specific examples that would apply to your home county and why all four areas are important for the future growth of your home community.”

I will be writing about Lawrence County, Kentucky. My town is very small and rural. I was thinking about writing about leadership would be organizing community service projects, to show why they are necessary. Also, for technology I was trying to link that and entrepreneurship together to make my writing shorter. How does setting up wireless internet throughout the county sound? That way it will include technology and I can lead that into it bringing forth more opportunities to learn, therefore increasing the entrepreneurs within the county.

Remember the poor little bird in P. D. Eastman’s much beloved children’s book Are You My Mother? The one who hatches from his egg while his mother is out scratching around for food and can’t figure out who he is? By the middle of the story, this confused hatchling is in the midst of a full-blown identity crisis, wandering around asking everyone, “Are you my mother?”
