I work for a small busines that deals with some customers in ways I’ve never seen before. You know the customer type (or maybe you don’t) that is a true liability. They are going to be more hassle than they’re worth. Even if they don’t steal as much time or money from the business as they’ve spent, they’ll make doing business unpleasant for managers and employees. I see a lot of entrepreneurs say that there are no difficult customers, just opportunities not seen yet. At the business that I work for now, we end the relationship clearly and quickly. The bad customer usually backpeddles, and is very offended when we don’t back down from asking them to leave. What are your thoughts?
I know at that point it’s too early for a non-disclosure contract, but is there something else entrepreneurs use/do to reduce the risk of someone they pitch their idea to running off and developing it themselves? Any input appreciated.

I am looking to start a small business selling animal food. ie, dog, cat, horse, and vitamins and supplements for them. I live in a small town, and if your dog only eats Alpo or Kibbles n Bits then your all set. But say you want ID or Science Diet, you have to drive to the next biggest town which is at least 30 minutes away. So it is a great opportunity where I am located. I understand getting a business loan, and have a place to lease all picked out. But what are the extras that are needed? Thank you for any and all advice/help.
