There are a surprising number of skills that are needed to run any number of businesses. Many hi-tech entrepreneurs believe that all they need to do is develop an application or a software product of some kind and then sit back to watch the money role in. This could not be further from the truth!

I have the opportunity to purchase a 10 year old business that has established a very good reputation in our city.
It is a fashion retail business with a very busy summer seaon but not much of a winter season.
I need to know what to ask for when looking at the financial records and other aspects of this business.
I also need to convince my husband to buy it for me. I am going to have to get a job either way (I’m nearly done with college) to pay back my student loans, so why not a business we own? I don’t know how to make this clear to him because he thinks it’ll be too much work for me, but the truth is, I want to be my own boss. I know I can run this business, I’ve worked there for a while and been in retail since high school. What are some talking points to convince him this would be a good idea?
