you can have two choices. be a servant of a good firm, have a good amount of salary, and enjoy the life with your family on sunday..
Or
you can hire people in your company, take effort to grow your busineess whole life and yet you dont have fix amount of salary
I mean which is better to be? A SERVANT whose expenditure is hardly 30% of his income(50% max.) or be a EMPLOYER having no limit on salary(may be negative!!)
what is good in being a owner of a company?
I am afresh mechanical engineer and cant decide my stream of life.
PLEASE HELP ME BY ANSWERING..

I’v played around in the stock market for some years now. I think i have a pretty decent understanding of how it works and hope that through it i can raise enough capital to start my first business. However, I’m scarred i don’t know what i should do. I know i should go to college but i feel that its almost not even necessary and that i could use that money spent on it to start my business or even if my parents allow travel the world and visit emerging markets like china or india and hopefully find an opportunity and jump on it. I’ve considered being an investment banker but i don’t want to be locked into one career for the rest of my life. are there any entrepreneurs out there with experience and advise they can offer me?

***I can honestly not express enough gratitude to the people that have answered. Thank you so much. Any insight is helpful and your responses are incredibly valuable.
****I understand that college is necessary in today’s world to be successful or even to just have a degree to fall back on if times get tough. thank you.

It seems to me this is EXACTLY what we need. It’s what we had before Kennedy’s disasterous 1965 immigration “reform.”

I’m graduating in two weeks and I am undecided on what I want to do. Here is what I am considering:
1. Backpack Europe (only have around 3,000 USD)
2. Move to Barcelona, Spain and work/party. But for English speaking Americans I am sure this would be difficult.
3. Join the military. Get in writing that I will be trained in my career choice and will have financial aid when going to college afterwards.
4. Stay in Arizona and work/party, wait a semester then go to a community college.
5. Do volunteer work in some other country.
6. Go on a walkabout in Australia.
7. Kill myself… Kidding :S
I’m not interested in ever having a career. While I would like to be trained/learn about things in life that will help me in my purpose, that doesn’t not mean I want to work/retire/die. I want to be an entrepreneur and create something.

I have only VERY basic skills – a bit of Fortran I’ve forgotten and some Basic on a commodore 64 (I made it up to sprite collisions!)
My goal is to write freeware games like Bridge Construction or a entrepreneur sim.
I need: Easy to learn, Free or Cheap, Easy to learn.

I want to become an entrepreneur in the biotech industry in 5-10 from now. I would like to create a company that creates customizable cure solution and treatment cheaply and for everyone. I believe that Genomics/Proteomics/Informatics/Internet will help us achieve that goal.
Now, I’m just a twentysomething guy who has a bachelor degree in Economics and I work a very big internet company. I do love internet and computer high-tech products, but I can’t see myself doing this forever.

I’m the type of person who likes learning about nutrition and keeping a person looking good. I also like creating products like innovative food products and cosmetic products. I want to sell these products. But i’m scared that it would be hard to earn from a job like that. So my 2nd choice would be to become a hospital dermatologist and if i’m really good i can start my own business of selling beauty products and maybe offer cosmetic surgeries. But if i dont sell products and remain as a hospital dermatologist, will i earn a lot? This is in the philippines.
Management of applied chemistry:
This innovative program is the first of its kind in the Philippines and is a combination of two unlikely partners: Management and Chemistry. It aims to develop managers and entrepreneurs with a strong technical background and a working familiarity with the chemical processes used in manufacturing operations.
