To that I answer, you can have the best entrepreneur ideas on the planet, but if you don’t follow the 6 golden rules of entrepreneur success, you’ll never achieve the dreams of which you are capable.Here are the key elements to entrepreneur success that all ultra successful entrepreneurs share:

1. Develop a millionaire mindset. Whatever your goals and dreams, know that you can do it. You can absolutely do anything at all the you put your mind to, and don’t ever think otherwise or let anything that others may think have a negative influence on you. Get your mind right. Be relentless in your quest, and it WILL happen for you.

2. Have a clear vision of why you are doing what you are doing. Know your “Why” in life. Yeah, money is great and we all want as much of it as we can get, but you have to have a purpose other than just financial. When (not if) you get all that money and achieve all your dreams, what are you going to do to give back? How are you going to help others? What are you going to do that will make a real difference in other people’s lives? If you don’t have that clear vision now, begin to develop it.

3. Become a master marketer. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you have, marketing is the fuel that drives it’s success. Once you have mastered the art of marketing you have the keys to the kingdom. You can virtually go into any business you chose and be successful. And notice I didn’t say internet marketing. Marketing is marketing and offline is just as important as online.

4. Never stop learning. Learn something new every day that will help you to become a better marketer.

5. Take that marketing knowledge and put it into action every day. All the knowledge in the world is useless if you don’t do anything with it. Get out a piece of paper right now and write down 3 things you are going to do today that will get you closer to your goals. Then do them. Repeat this every day until you have reached your goal, then set a new goal. Get the idea here?

6. Focus, focus, and then focus some more! Stop chasing all the bright shiny objects and devote all your energy to one thing and become the best at it. It doesn’t matter whether you want to open a brick and mortar franchise, be an online affiliate marketer or a network marketer, a marketing consultant or a seminar speaker. Whatever it is…go ALL IN, or you’re not in at all.

This is the biggest success killer of everybody who decides to go into business for themselves. They are all over board and never commit to one thing. A couple of months go by, the seminar CDs are stacked in your office next to empty printer cartridges, and the workbook from which you so excitedly tore off the shrink-wrap is there too, gathering as much dust as guilt.

What went wrong?

We women entrepreneurs are “lifetime learners”, but without strategies for how to take in all the information available, it’s too easy to spin our wheels and waste money on programs and information products we’ll never put to use.

Now, as a small business consultant, I love purchasing information products. (Way back when, I was a die-hard catalogue shopper. So when the Internet came along, I was a natural for taking advantage of its shopping convenience.)

I now have two coaches and I’m a Platinum member of a year-long coaching program. So you can see that learning rates high up on my priority list!

But … I do not purchase any information product, join a program, or attend a seminar without first being clear on how I am going to put the information to use.

Here are five favorite tips for getting the most from information products and programs, so that they put money into your pockets:

Success Coaching Tip #1: Ask yourself this pivotal question: “What is the one thing I want the product or program to deliver?”

When you’re clear on your outcome, the likelihood of achievement more than doubles. In addition, when you’re specific about the expectations for your purchase, you’re more likely to dive in and put the information to use.

Success Coaching Tip #2: Get into action.
No product or program will help you if you don’t take action! When I purchase information products, I listen to the CDs the moment they arrive. In fact, I keep a special case in my car with the information programs I’ve purchased lined up in the order I plan to listen to them.

Success Coaching Tip #3: Don’t expect one product or program to give you everything you need.
When I make a purchase or join a program, I’m looking for one great idea that will make the time I spend worthwhile. When I find it, I’m thrilled! Do I care that the other portions of the product or program were just so-so? Not really.

Here’s why: it only takes one great idea (put into action) to change your business—dramatically!

For example: Last year, I purchased a very expensive program, filled with incredible content. I listened to all sixteen CDs over the entire summer. There were easily ten different ideas for women entrepreneurs that were worth pursuing. I chose one idea for my small business consultant organization, put it into action and now have an additional $130,000 worth of annual revenue.

Success Coaching Tip #4: Chose components of the program in which you want to participate and ignore the rest.
Just because a product comes with CDs, a workbook and other goodies does not mean you must use them all! If you prefer to listen, then use the CDs and ignore the workbook. Prefer to read? Great! Curl up with the workbook and put the CDs on your learning library shelf.

Here’s another example: I’ve been part of a high-end marketing program. It includes the usual CDs, transcripts, monthly calls (which I can’t attend, due to scheduling conflicts), a members’ forum, etc.

I knew that as a small business consultant, I would never use half of the program’s components. But I make use of the other half each and every month. I read the transcript the moment it is available and listen to the CDs in my car. That’s it. Has the program been worthwhile? Absolutely!

Success Coaching Tip #5: Talk about what you’re learning.
I tell everyone I know what I am learning. Talking about new material helps clarify your thoughts, integrate what you are learning, plus sparks additional questions to ask. I find this tip priceless when it comes to getting more than my money’s worth from any product, program or seminar!

Banish seminar overload by putting these five tips into action. You’ll learn more—faster—and feel that delicious sense of power and accomplishment long after the shrink wrap is gone!

You must be able to have a squeeze page on your website. How will you do it? First and foremost, you must have a hosting account and domain. The domain should be in the hosting account. You can build your website by going to Microsoft FrontPage. This is a very easy thing to do so you will not encounter many problems. The form found in the squeeze page should match with the Autoresponder form. This way, personal information on the squeeze page can be captured correctly.

To catch the attention of internet users, your site must have a captivating headline. You can entice subscribers by giving them free bonus reports, newsletter, or even eBooks.

Some entrepreneurs put their photos on their site’s squeeze page. If you want to do the same, you must be extra careful as photos take up great file sizes. Your photo file should be reduced to a smaller size first so that it will not affect the boot up of the squeeze page. Waiting too long for a page to boot up will definitely discourage visitors.

Putting your photo is not a very good idea because some visitors are distracted by it and so they might miss some important information on the site. Sticking to text only on your squeeze page is the best way to load faster and provide all the information needed by the visitor.

As you may already know there has been an increase awareness of the MasterMind and therefore an increase in the use of the term as a service to help you with your success.  MasterMinds can be personal or business focused.  They can be specific or general.  Some may have been formed by “connected” friends or colleagues, while others are facilitated coaching groups that you pay to join. 

Be aware!  Not all MasterMinds are created equally 

MasterMind groups will provide ideas, concept development, problem support and a form of accountability.  The depth and focus of a group can vary–widely.  No matter what your structure or affiliation, here are EIGHT tips to enhance your return on investment of your time, money and energy and therefore, how you can achieve exponential payoffs from your MasterMind group. 

The use of the term has come to mean a lot of different things to different people.  Here at the IMAG, our source is Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich!”  He states, 

“The Master Mind may be defined as coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose.” 

The operative words here are definite purpose.  Always keep this in mind when searching for and accepting to be in a MasterMind group.  With that lets get started! 

TIP #1:  Know and be honest with yourself about the purpose of being in a Mastermind group.  This is probably the most important to achieving exponential success from your time spent in a MasterMind group.  So, go ahead and write down your whys and the tangible results you are looking for from being in a MasterMind.  

·        What kind of economic payoff are you seeking? 

·        Are you hoping to shorten and ease your path to opening a business? 

·        Are you looking to connect with people with experience-based knowledge outside of your industry? 

Remember, an idea is just an idea until it becomes a tangible plan and it is acted on. Will being part of a MasterMind get you physically closer to your goal? 

It is wise to know the results you are seeking for two important reasons.  The first is that you can easily get side-tracked into a group that sounds exciting, but at the end of the day (more like several months or even a year) you won’t have gotten what you had needed. 

The second important reason is when you are a lone-ranger with excitement and ideas that no one around you understands or wants to understand, the support of other people with a like mind, body and spirit will make you feel good.  If that is your purpose…if that is what you are seeking…GREAT!  If you are looking for more tangible results…within a specific timeframe…you’ve got to know this to ensure you align yourself with that type of group. 

The third reason is knowing your desired results will also help you to figure out how much getting into a group is WORTH.  Not only does this equate to time and energy, but in monetary terms.  How much are you willing to pay for the results you are seeking? 

Be aware, a lot of groups will tell you that if your success is important to you…money isn’t the issue.  They are absolutely right!  Therefore, YOU must know what you are trying to achieve to be able to know what your intentions are and how important they are to you to achieve them! 

TIP #2:  Select a group that fits your purpose.  Once you know what you want and the purpose of being part of a MasterMind…you can now start your search for a group that fits your purpose.  There are a lot of MasterMind groups and all of them look great…which one will be GREAT for you? 

Remember one major element of a MasterMind, according to Napoleon Hill, is that the knowledge and effort is for the attainment of a definite purpose.  If you don’t know what your purpose is, how can you expect the group to know to deliver what you need? 

TIP #3:  Provide honest, positive and supportive feedback.  Once you’ve joined your group, you must provide honest, positive and supportive feedback.  This is much easier to do, if the group is aligned well with your purpose. 

Make sure that all three elements are part of your feedback.  Do a quick check of what you’re about to say before you speak.  If your input is honest and positive…is it supportive to the person you are about to give input to?  If it is supportive, is it honest and positive?  If it is positive and supportive, is it honest?  

Question yourself and do your best at providing honest, positive and supportive feedback to yourself and the other members. Remember, what you give is what you will receive. As you provide feedback, always check and take personal responsibility to this tip seriously. 

TIP #4:  Assimilate the feedback you receive into your thoughts.  As a member of a MasterMind you WILL receive great out of the box ideas.  So you must not brush them aside and pick only the ones that make sense at the time.  Although you may not think you are ready for these ideas, they may be exactly what you may need after you spend a little bit of time with them. 

They may be just the right “in-the-stars” ideas and close enough for you to implement with not much effort!  Let them trigger possibility thinking that can help you get past the probability thinking we all tend to have.  

TIP #5:  Translate your thoughts into written target POSSIBILITIES.  As we receive these “in-the-star” gold nuggets from our fellow masterminders…spend a little bit of time on them now.  If you don’t they may be lost forever! 

Write them down with any other thoughts that may have come up.  Don’t worry about the “how”.  All you are doing is taking it out of your mind and putting it on paper to allow you to do three important actions. 

·        Trigger new thought that may help you with a more current situation. 

·        Put these away for a later time to explore and continue to transform. 

·        Free up your mind to accept and focus on more immediate plans.  

TIP #6:  Create action plans for those possibilities you want to actualize now.  Dreams,thoughts, ideas can not be transformed into tangible results unless put into a plan.  Put your best foot forward and put your energy in identifying the needed activities, steps or tasks, materials, resources and even connections.  Build plans with as much information to help you to move forward.  It will help you to align with the type of knowledge and help to produce what you need. 

The more you can identify, the easier it will be to identify the right “people” to help you with your business. 

TIP #7:  Act upon these plans.  Ok, now you’ve got the plan…now you need to act and move forward. Remember, a plan is just a plan.  It will sit in your brain or on the shelf until you act upon it. 

Here’s another thought from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich… 

“…if your plan is comprehensive and are contemplating large proportions, you must induce others to cooperate with you.” 

In other words you must use others to actualize your plan.  At the least you will probably need (and want) someone with technical advice or specialized knowledge.  You will also want someone with experienced-based knowledge in your bullpen or on your payroll.  In addition to helping you to communicate and delegate, plans can help you explore new possibilities and ideas…and connect you with new and exciting people.   

TIP #8:  Set up an accountability system.   A plan is a must!  A written plan is your blueprint to success!  A good accountability system helps you to keep focused.  It gives you the necessary reminders to ensure you do what you say or intend!  

An accountability system could be as formalized as written milestones in your plan, a hired project manager or as simple as verbalizing it to your MasterMind group.  Here’s a note of caution…plans will probably need to be modified for a variety of reasons.  So don’t feel you can’t change the plan to accommodate unforeseen changes or in-the-star good nuggets.  The accountability system is there to keep you in check…not to beat you up!

If you pay attention to other people as they complain about goals not met, you’ll soon see clearly these individuals are actively sabotaging their own efforts. They probably aren’t aware of this, but the fact remains their thoughts and actions are in direct opposition to what they say they want.

And once you notice this trait in others, it won’t be hard to find it in yourself as well! If you always seem to be struggling in one or more areas of your life, yet you believe with great sincerity that you want success in these areas, it is highly likely some form of self-defeat or self-limiting beliefs and/or actions are at work.

I’ll give you an example from my own life to help put this whole concept into perspective. Today I’m an entrepreneur with a successful business; but a few years prior to this writing I lived in extreme poverty.

Let me be clear: When I say poverty I don’t mean I sometimes fell behind on my house payment. In fact I had no home at one time, and rarely (if ever) had a single dollar bill in my pocket!

Being completely broke was the normal state of affairs for me. Looking back I wonder how I managed to eat.

Anyway at some point I decided being dirt poor was no fun. I made up my mind to become a successful entrepreneur and generate lots of money doing things I enjoy.

I attained marginal success within a couple of years. But I soon hit an invisible ceiling and found myself unable to move beyond a certain level of income.

Money came and went sporadically. I often had to deplete my savings account to survive, and it seemed absolutely impossible to make a real breakthrough and enjoy sustained comfort and prosperity.

After going through this for some time I began to look closely at myself. Knowing that my results were the reflections of my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, I determined I could assess my state of mind to discover exactly what stood in the way of my desired success.

What I found was shocking. Over time I realized that whenever I thought about or spoke of large sums of money, I experienced a number of negative symptoms!

For instance, I might say I wanted to earn $10,000 within the next 30 days. Perhaps I would even write this down on my project board.

But as I talked about this amount of money, wrote it down, and tried to visualize myself receiving it, I became highly agitated. I sank into an instant and deep state of depression, my heart rate accelerated considerably, and I even became physically sick at my stomach!

Intellectually, emotionally, and even physically I was rejecting the idea of breakthrough success. And because I simply could not create a positive state of mind around the idea of big money it was literally impossible for me to manifest it.

On the rare occasions when I did create a major cash windfall, a problem would quickly arise to drain my funds. I was stuck in a viscous poverty cycle.

Why did I put myself through this?

For one thing, it’s likely I didn’t feel worthy of true success. My whole life had been spent in poverty, so who did I think I was trying to play a role that didn’t fit me?

Also the prospect of drastic change terrified me. I understood lack, scarcity, and struggle; but I had no idea how to cope with abundance, comfort, and plenty.

All of this may sound bizarre to you. But my story is not unique.

The fact is many people suffer from similar self-defeatist thinking and emotional states. Again, if you claim to want success in a particular area but inexplicably find yourself falling short despite your best efforts you should take a close and honest inventory of your daily thoughts and feelings.

Simply becoming aware of your own self-limiting thoughts and beliefs will go along way toward breaking the spell, so to speak. Once you see what is going on, you can challenge your mindset and shift it to a more desirable focal point.

The quickest, most effective method for overcoming this sort of deeply rooted self-defeat is the application of positive affirmations. Create a set of strong statements to counter your destructive beliefs and read these positive suggestions several times each day.

In my case, I created affirmations like: “Money loves to be around me. I always have more than enough money. I deserve the money I receive from multiple sources and I have fun spending it.”

As I repeated these positive suggestions over and over, day in and day out, my unconscious mind began to shift on its axis. Confident repetition literally programs the human mind in the same way valid source code teaches a computer system how to think and behave.

With sincere intention, self-awareness, and diligent affirmation I permanently dissolved my self-defeating thought patterns and attained the success I deserve. Certainly if I can do this, anyone else can as well!

#1 – Discipline

The first unique skill is need to master is discipline. One of the hardest things of moving from the “employee” mentality to the “be your own boss” mentality is the fact that you no longer have someone watching your every move. An optimistic person looks to find the good in things and is always looking for the silver lining inside the rain cloud. Being optimistic is important for many reasons. A positive attitude clears your head and keeps out the doubt that will constantly by creeping in.

One of my favorite quotes is from business philosopher, Jim Rohn. No matter how much you think you know, there are always others out there that have more experience and advice that you should be actively seeking. Read books, attend conferences, interview experts, and always keep learning.

Have a plan

We have a business plan, but do we have a conference plan? Check online, who’s going to be there, who is presenting. Make a list of the people you need to see, the ones you need to hear. Then list ones you would like to hear and see. How about setting goal for number of new contacts you will make. Schedule your arrival and departure time to allow for delays and meetings after the conference.

Connect before the conference

Contact key people before the seminar. Set up a meeting with them. It can get very hectic at large conventions, so many people, so little time. So what’s a successful entrepreneur to do? I think one of the most important things to do is just realize, sometimes it’s going to be hard. And that’s okay. Often I believe we feel that because we finally own our own business, and we work so hard for it, that we must be positive and happy ALL the time. We don’t. Hopefully the majority of the time you will be, however, when things come up, it’s AOK to say, wow, this is tough and find support. Have an online or offline buddy that you can go to and talk. Someone who will say, hey it’s going to be better; someone who knows you and knows just the right thing to say to make it better.

It’s also important to plan ahead. No, you can’t tell when the kids will get sick. However, you can plan and have a back-up subcontractor so you can go straight to plan B. The time to plan for this is before it happens, way before you need it.

Here are tips:

1) Find someone now who can help you with your business. Send them work now so they become familiar with your needs. Let them know that you will be using them on a sporadic basis. You’ll probably find that once you see how much help they provide you use them a lot more than you thought, but at least you know you have the support you need.

2) Computers – Hands up – who backed up their system last week? Ouch!! Think about this, how would you feel if you went to turn on the computer and it was blank, dead, gone. That can and will happen. You need to back-up regularly and you need to check those back-ups. One thing I recently discovered is I backed up regularly to another computer. However, I couldn’t retrieve the documents.

3) Internet down – Do you have a friend in the neighborhood who also has a computer that you can use. How about the local library. Most of the time you can wait it out, however, for many of us it is critical to be able to get it there. I once had an attorney preparing for the trial of the century (at least he thought so). The case rested on me (at least that’s what he told me), and right when it was time to send him all the pleadings, our phone went dead. (For all of you wondering, we did pay the bill, it was a technical problem). I immediately rushed over to my neighbors and was able to send the documents. My client was none the wiser.

4) Summertime – MOMS, tell the truth, it’s hard. In the summer with the kids home from school it’s harder to run a home-based business. They are bored. You are busy. And just because the school bell rang its last toll, the work still comes in. Here too you need to plan ahead. Two words, Summer Camp! If you can’t do summer camp, then definitely get creative. 5) In laws – It’s gonna happen. If you want to get busy in your business, have company come in town. Guaranteed, that’s the time that you will be your busiest. I’ve been in business for 23 years now, and it seems that every time company comes into town, I get hit with a major rush. And it doesn’t get easier with age. But one thing I do is plan ahead. Because I live in Florida and get lots of company, I can’t take time off every time. However, what I can do is rotate and take time off with different clients. That way I’m not working for all my clients during that time. If you don’t have a separate office, get a computer in your room. When visible, they feel you are available. When you work 9-5 you are unavailable until 5:30. However, when you happen to be in the same house, it’s often easy for them to think you can socialize.
